James Corden refuses to release Linkin Park's Carpool Karaoke with Chester Bennington unless family agree

Chester's widow Talinda has thanked him for the decision.

James Corden has revealed that Linkin Park's Carpool Karaoke won't air unless Chester Bennington's family want it to.

The band had filmed an episode for the TV spin-off of James's popular The Late Late Showsketch just days before Chester's tragic death last month, and James has spoken to the Associated Press about whether it'll be aired.

"We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled. We consider it not our decision to make," he explained.

"We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don't think there's any other way we could deal with it… It's a tragedy."

The decision has been welcomed by Chester's widow Talinda Bennington who shared the quotes on her Twitter account and writing "thank you".

Linkin Park's Carpool Karaoke episode featured The Hangover star Ken Jeong, who shared his own tribute to Chester following his death: "I am in shock and heartbroken. All my thoughts and prayers go out to Chester and his family and friends at this time."

Following his death, Linkin Park released an official statement saying their "hearts are broken".

"The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened. You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realised," it read.
